Sustainable Grain Purchasing Policy
The BRF Sustainability Plan is an integral part of our journey and is aligned with the Company's Sustainability Policy. Based on the fundamental commitments of Integrity, Quality, and Safety, the BRF Sustainability Policy establishes our guidelines regarding principles and directives to be applied in the business, focusing on the incorporation of economic, environmental, social aspects, and sustainable practices for the management of BRF's production chain.
To enhance our transparency and reinforce our ambitions, we have set global and cross-cutting commitments in the ESG aspects. Among them is the commitment to "Ensure traceability of 100% of grains acquired from the Amazon and the Cerrado by 2025," aligned with the pursuit of a deforestation-free supply chain, with reduced impacts on biodiversity, and the Net Zero 2040 plan.
Business partners who demonstrate non-compliance with our Sustainable Grain Procurement Policy are evaluated by our Multidisciplinary Grain Sustainability Committee. Comprising five areas: Commodities, Sustainability, Commercial, Compliance, and Legal, the committee evaluates, from all perspectives, exceptional cases regarding the continuity or termination of certain negotiations.
In order to provide more clarity to our criteria and emphasize the importance of engagement from our grain business partners for a deforestation-free and low-impact biodiversity chain, we have developed the BRF Sustainable Grain Supplier Handbook.
Sustainability is an integral part of our journey and reinforces our purpose to contribute to a better and more sustainable world!

Q&A traceability
A: No. BRF will ensure traceability of all grains (soy, corn, and sorghum) acquired from the Amazon and Cerrado biomes by 2025, from direct and indirect suppliers. Additionally, the company will ensure that its suppliers adhere to the guidelines set forth in the BRF Sustainable Grain Procurement Policy and other regulatory documents.
A: BRF has a Sustainable Grain Procurement Policy that addresses the Company's stance on deforestation.
A: The Amazon and Cerrado biomes currently carry the highest risks associated with deforestation for agricultural conversion. Therefore, for the Amazon biome, BRF will not source from areas that have been legally or illegally deforested (zero deforestation) since July 2008. For the Cerrado biome, the Company will not source from illegally deforested areas. BRF, aware of its role, will continue working towards a more sustainable and deforestation-free supply chain.
A: Due to the heightened risks of deforestation, the Amazon and Cerrado biomes were prioritized for the company's public commitment. However, suppliers from other biomes will also be traced and monitored according to the guidelines set in the BRF Sustainable Grain Procurement Policy (excluding specific criteria for the Amazon and Cerrado).
A: Currently, achieving traceability for indirect suppliers presents challenges for the industry. BRF is conducting benchmarks and engagement rounds with its indirect suppliers to define a strategy for ensuring traceability and compliance with socio-environmental criteria for these suppliers.
A: The progress of traceability for grain suppliers from the Amazon and Cerrado will be annually reported through the Integrated Report.
